Play Guitar Confidently
Develop proper technique on guitar by having a well laid out lesson plan, understanding the context of the music you are playing, and by repetition of each new technique until it is mastered. At each step, develop your ear, rhythm and technique, and have an awareness of the music you are playing. By doing so, your technique and confidence will be built up one lesson at a time.
How It Began
GuitarStrumBase was developed with clarity, continuity, and a musical emphasis in mind. There are no tricks, but rather an emphasis on the basics, expressive playing, and repetition to develop technique, rhythm, timing, and tone.

Learning Philosophy
Technique is developed with an understanding of how the music relates to the instrument. Chords, scales, rhythm, and dynamics are all related in a way that leads to expressive, accurate, confident playing.
Core Techniques
An emphasis is placed on the placement of fingers on the fretboard, strumming (picking) technique, rhythm and timing, and navigating the fretboard. All of these aspects are developed together to avoid techniques that hinder musical expression.
Musical Expression
Besides the mechanical aspects of playing, emphasis is also placed on developing tone, phrasing, and feel. This develops a strong relationship between the hands and the musical result, enabling ideas to be immediately translated into music.
Practice Structure
All practice is designed to be efficient and directed, avoiding unnecessary repetition. Each practice segment leads into the next one to avoid confusion and assure steady progress while aiding retention.
Skill Progression
Skills are layered gradually, preventing overwhelm while maintaining momentum. This progression supports confidence, accuracy, and musical awareness as complexity increases naturally.
Support Resources
Guides, explanations, and reference materials clarify common challenges and reinforce understanding, making it easier to stay consistent and focused between practice sessions.
